Markinch Bowling Club management committee met on Tuesday 17th March 2020 to discuss the Government Guidance following the recent outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
From immediate effect Markinch Bowling Club will be closed until at least mid April, with the position reviewed at the next committee meeting, this in turn means all events, private functions and fixtures are currently postponed with the club and green closed.
The welfare of our Members, Staff, and the bowling community is paramount and comes before anything else, it is important for the club to protect themselves and the most vulnerable members at this time.
The management committee will reconvene in April and will provide a further update then. Please pass this information to members that you know will not see information posted online.
Membership Subscriptions
Membership subscriptions are due before 31st March 2020, if any member wishes to play in club competition’s this season following the re-opening of the Green, they must pay their fees before this date, as stated in the club Constitution & Rules. Payments can be made, by BACS Transfer, Cheque written out to the club and placed in the letterbox or in Cash to the club treasurer, Clarence Machado who is based at A2B Vanhire in Glenrothes, 7 days a week or any committee member.
BACS (Bank) Details can be requested by email (see below) or by message on Facebook to the Bowling Club, Cheques are to be made out to Markinch Bowling Club.

Carpet Bowls Dance – Saturday 28th March – Postponed – Purchased tickets will be valid for new date when confirmed later this year. Refunds will be available if this date doesn’t suit some members.
Opening of the Green – Saturday 4th April – Postponed – Date will be confirmed later.
Bowhill Friendly Fixture – Saturday 11th April – Postponed
Duffus Park Friendly Fixture – Saturday 18th April – Postponed
