Markinch Bowling Club wants to pay tribute to the Local Businesses that support us throughout our season each year, please find our Sponsors listed below.
Crosbie Matthew are one of the most successful local funeral director companies, with offices in Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes. There are now two competitions sponsored by Crosbie Matthew, who have been associated with Markinch B.C. since 2001.
There is no doubt that their financial involvement enables more prize money to be on offer and always attracts a higher calibre of bowlers to enter the competition.
The J.P.Gilmour Trophy was donated to Markinch B.C. by members John and Laura Marshall to promote Junior participation in bowls.
The trophy they donated is for a Triples competition, with a Gent playing lead, a Lady playing second and a Junior, who skips. The entries are normally drawn in groups of 4 or 5 triples, as there are numerous entries from Clubs throughout Fife. This competition has become very popular, as John and Laura also donate generously for the prizes.
The Co-operative Funeralcare is part of the Co-operative Group. The Co-operative Funeralcare sponsor an open pairs competition held annually at Markinch, which is limited to an entry of 24 pairs, drawn into four groups of six. The winners and runners-up of each group qualify for the knockout stages. This has proved to be a popular competition, aided by the sponsor money, which is gratefully appreciated and always guarantees a good entry of high calibre bowlers.
