Ladies become Members
It was in December, 1974 Mr. J.Bell proposed that ladies be admitted to the Club as members, as they would be an asset to the Club. This was seconded by Mr. J.L.Nimmo and as there was no counter proposal the motion was carried.
During 1975, 78 ladies joined the Club, with annual subscriptions set at £2 and on 25th May, 1975 the Ladies Section held their inaugural meeting. The Gents’ President, J.Bell chaired the meeting, assisted by Vice President J.Davies Snr. as the ladies elected their office bearers. After the gents departed the ladies then continued their meeting and elected the first Ladies Committee.
